Fix an HBO Max subscription issue

'Welcome back' message

If you're getting a Welcome back message when you open HBO Max, try the solutions below.

Check your subscription status

Check the status of your subscription. Here's how:

  1. Open HBO Max, and on the Welcome back screen, do one of the following:
    • Phone or tablet: Choose your profile (upper right) and then Subscription.
    • Computer: Choose Subscription (top of screen).
    • TV device: Choose the Settings icon cog (lower left) and then Subscription.
      -or-
      Web: Go to HBOMax.com/subscription and sign in. Can't sign in?
  2. Find who your subscription is billed through (top of the screen).
  3. If your subscription is active and billed through us (WarnerMedia Direct Asia Pacific), you'll find your upcoming payment date. Otherwise, find who your subscription is billed through below:
    • Amazon Appstore (Niue only): Sign in at amazon.com.au/appstoresubscriptions and find your HBO Max subscription status.
    • WarnerMedia Direct Asia Pacific: If your subscription is active, you'll find your upcoming payment date.
    • Other provider: Sign in to your internet, mobile, or TV provider account to check the status of your HBO Max subscription. If you need help, contact your provider.

If your HBO Max subscription is active, try signing out of HBO Max (the next solution).

Sign out and sign in again

Try signing out and back in to HBO Max. Here's how:

  1. In HBO Max, do one of the following:
    • Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then choose Sign Out.
    • TV device: Choose the Settings icon cog (lower left) and then Sign Out.
  2. Sign in to HBO Max.
