Forgot my HBO Max email or password
If you're unsure of your account email or password, use the following info to get signed in to HBO Max.
Here's how to sign in without a password:
- When prompted for your password, choose get a code instead.
- Check your inbox for an email sent by HBO Max (email subject: Time Sensitive: Your One-Time HBO Max Code). This email should arrive within a few minutes. Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam). Didn't get the email?
- Enter the 6-digit code from your email.
- If prompted, add or update the password for your account.
- Choose who's watching and you're ready to stream.
If you don't know your HBO Max password, you can reset it. You need to have access to your account email in order to reset your password. If you no longer have access to your email address, please contact us.
Here's how to reset your password:
- Go to HBOMax.com/forgot-password.
- Enter your HBO Max account email and choose Submit. Forgot your account email?
- Check your inbox for an HBO Max Password Reset email. This email should arrive within a few minutes.
- Open the most recent Password Reset email and choose Reset Your Password.
- Enter a new password and choose Save.
Now, sign in with your account email and your new password.
If you don't get an HBO Max Password Reset email, go to Can't reset password.
If you don't know your HBO Max account email, here are a few things to try:
- Search all of your email accounts for an email from HBO Max.
- Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam).
Once you find the email account associated with HBO Max emails, try signing in with this email address.
If you're signed in on a device, here's how to find your account email:
- In HBO Max, do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Account.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon
and then Account.
- Take note of your account email address.
Do you have another email address that could be associated with your account? If you do, try these steps:
- Go to HBOMax.com/forgot-password.
- Enter another email address of yours and choose Submit.
- Wait a few minutes and check your inbox for an HBO Max Password Reset email.
If there's an account associated with the email that you entered, you'll get an HBO Max Password Reset email. If you don't get this email, try these steps for each of your email accounts.
Mistyped email or no longer have access

Troubleshooting
Didn't get the one-time code email?
When you sign in without a password, you should get an email with a code within a few minutes. If you didn't get this email, try the following:
First, search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam) for an email with the subject: Your HBO Max Password Reset Link. The email is sent by HBO Max (HBOMax@service.hbomax.com).
A different email may be associated with your HBO Max account. Try signing in with another email address of yours. When you're prompted for your password, choose get a code instead and follow the Sign in without a password steps.
If you're signed in to HBO Max on a device, here's how to find your account email:
- In HBO Max, do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Account.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon and then Account.
- Find your account email address.
- Sign in to HBO Max with this email address. When you're prompted for your password, choose get a code instead and follow the Sign in without a password steps.
