Sign in to HBO Max
To sign in, choose the device you're using below.
New subscription?
If you get HBO Max (or HBO) through an internet, mobile, or TV provider, you need to Activate your HBO Max subscription before you can start streaming.

Here's how to sign in to the HBO Max app:
Open HBO Max and choose Sign In.
Already signed in? Choose your profile (upper right) and then Sign Out.
Enter your HBO Max account email and choose Continue.
Don't have an HBO Max account yet? If you get HBO Max (or HBO) through an internet, mobile, or TV provider, choose create an HBO Max account and then choose your provider. Need help? Go to Activate your HBO Max subscription.
Choose the screen you get next:
To finish signing in, do the following:
Enter your HBO Max password and choose Sign In.
Choose who's watching and you're ready to stream.
Forgot your password?
Choose Get One-Time Code and follow the Sign in without a password steps. You can also reset your password.
We didn't find an account with the email address you entered. Do one of the following:
Check your email address. If you have another email that could be associated with your HBO Max account, choose Edit Email Address and enter a different email address. Need help? Go to Find your account email.
Set up your HBO Max account. If you get HBO Max through an internet, mobile, or TV provider, choose Connect Your Provider, then choose who you get HBO Max (or HBO) through, or type their name in the Search box. Need help? Go to Connect your provider.
To finish signing in, do the following:
Check your inbox for an email sent by HBO Max (email subject: Time Sensitive: Your One-Time HBO Max Code). This email should arrive within a few minutes. Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam).
Enter the 6-digit code from your email.
Add or update a password for your account.
Choose who's watching and you're ready to stream.
Need to switch accounts? To sign in to a different HBO Max account, choose your profile (upper right) and then Sign Out. Once signed out, choose Sign In.
Troubleshooting
If you get this message, try signing in without your password. Here's how:
When prompted for your password, choose Get One-Time Code.
Check your inbox for an email sent by HBO Max (email subject: Time Sensitive: Your One-Time HBO Max Code). This email should arrive within a few minutes. Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam). Didn't get the email?
Enter the 6-digit code from your email.
If prompted, add or update the password for your account.

If you get this message, check the status of your HBO Max subscription. For help with this, go to Fix a subscription issue.

If you get a 'Your device time is out of sync' error on your phone or tablet, make sure the date and time are correct on your device. For help, go to Google’s Set date & time article or Apple’s iPhone: Change time or iPad: Change time article.
Sometimes we'll ask you to solve a puzzle to help keep your account secure. If you're having trouble with the Captcha puzzle, choose Restart to try again or Audio Challenge to access your account another way.
If this doesn't help, try signing in on a different device.

Open HBO Max and choose Sign In.

(lower left) and then Sign Out.Now, choose a TV sign-in option:
Sign in on your TV using a code. Here's how:
Stay on the TV screen with the QR code and do one of the following:
Open your phone's camera app and point your camera at the QR code on your TV. Then, tap the link that appears on your phone (iPhone or Android QR steps).

On your phone or computer, go to HBOMax.com/signin. Then, enter the 6-digit code from your TV.
On the sign-in screen, enter your HBO Max account email and choose Continue.

TV code not working?
If the 6-digit code isn't working, here are some things to try:
Open a private or incognito browser window and then go to HBOMax.com/signin.
Try signing in another way (e.g. Use Email Address).
Try using a different supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari).
Sign in on your TV using the HBO Max mobile app. Here's how:
On the TV sign-in screen, choose Use HBO Max Mobile App (on the left).
(This option is not available on all TV devices.)
Open the HBO Max app on your phone or tablet.
If you're not signed in, sign in, then close and reopen the HBO Max mobile app.
Choose Allow in the HBO Max mobile app and you'll be signed in on your TV.
On your TV, choose who's watching and you're ready to stream.
Didn't get Allow prompt?
If you didn't get a prompt in the HBO Max mobile app, try the following:
Make sure your mobile device and TV device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Close and reopen the HBO Max mobile app.
Try signing in another way (e.g. Use a Code).
Sign in on your TV using your TV remote.
On the TV sign-in screen, choose Use Email Address (on the left).
Enter your HBO Max account email and choose Continue. To open the on-screen keyboard, move the selection to Email Address and press the select button on your remote.
Do one of the following:
Check your inbox for an email sent by HBO Max (email subject: Time Sensitive: Your One-Time HBO Max Code) and enter the 6-digit code from your email. This email should arrive within a few minutes. Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam).
Choose Use Password Instead, then enter your account password and choose Sign In.
Choose who's watching and you're ready to stream.
'That doesn't look right' message
We didn't find an account with the email address you entered. Do one of the following:
Edit Email Address: Make sure your account email address is correct. If you have another email that could be associated with your HBO Max account, choose Edit Email Address and enter your other email. Need help? Go to Find your account email.
Connect Your Provider: If you get HBO Max (or HBO) through an internet, mobile, or TV provider, choose Connect Your Provider and follow the Connect your provider steps.
Need to switch accounts? To sign in to a different HBO Max account, choose the Settings icon (lower left) and then Sign Out. Once signed out, choose Sign In.
