Change your account info

Mistyped email or no longer have access?
If you mistyped your email address when you created your account or no longer have access to your account email, please contact us.

You can change your HBO Max account info (email, password, and name) on your phone, tablet, or computer.

What would you like to do?

Change email
  1. Sign in to HBO Max on your phone, tablet, or computer. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile and then Account.
  3. Choose the Edit icon pencil next to Email Address.
  4. Enter a new email address and choose Save. We'll send an email to your current email address.
    Can't access current email? If you don't have access to your current email address, please contact us for help.
  5. Check your inbox for an email from HBO Max (email subject: Please confirm email address change). This email should arrive within a few minutes. Didn't get the email?
  6. Open this email and choose Confirm Change.

Your email address is updated (sign in on all devices with your updated email address).

Change password
  1. Sign in to HBO Max on your phone, tablet, or computer. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile and then Account.
  3. Choose the Edit icon pencil next to Password.
  4. Enter your current password. Can't update password?
    If you don't know your password, you can reset your password instead.
  5. Enter a new password and choose Save.

Your password is updated and your account is signed out of all devices. Now, sign in to HBO Max with your new password.

Change name
  1. Sign in to HBO Max on your phone, tablet, or computer. Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile and then Account.
  3. Choose the Edit icon pencil next to Name.
  4. Enter a new first and last name and choose Save.

Troubleshooting

'Please use a different email address' message

If you get this message, it may mean that the email address that you entered is already associated with an HBO Max account. Double-check the email address that you entered and/or use a different email address.

'We couldn't update your password' message

If you get this message, it means the password you entered doesn't match what we have for your account. To resolve this, try the following:

Didn't get the email?

If you didn't get a confirmation email from HBOMax@service.hbomax.com, try these things:

  • Search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam) for an email from HBO Max (email subject: Please confirm email address change).
  • Try the Change email steps again with a different email address. Your new account email can't be associated with another HBO Max account.
