How do I cancel HBO Max?
- Your HBO Max subscription will continue until you cancel it.
- Deleting the HBO Max app does not cancel your subscription.
- Cancel a monthly subscription before your next billing date to avoid further charges.
HBO Max subscriptions are available through many providers. The cancellation steps vary depending on who bills you. If you know who bills you, skip to Step 2.

Step 1: Find who bills you
Here's how to find who bills you for HBO Max:
- Do one of the following:
- Web: Go to HBOMax.com/subscription and sign in (if needed). Can't sign in?
- Phone, tablet, or computer: In HBO Max, choose your profile and then Subscription.
- TV device: In HBO Max, choose the Settings icon
and then Subscription.
- Here you'll find who your subscription is billed through (top of screen) and who your TNT Sports subscription is billed through (if applicable). Your HBO Max entertainment plan and TNT Sports subscription can be billed by different parties.
You can also check your bank statements or ask your internet, mobile, or TV provider if they bill you for HBO Max.
Step 2: Cancel your subscription
If you're billed through us, here's how to cancel your subscription:
- Go to HBOMax.com/subscription and sign in (if needed). Can't sign in?
- Choose Cancel Your Subscription.
No cancel option? Take note of who your subscription is billed through (top of screen) and find them in the Third-party billing section below. - Confirm your cancellation and take note of your expiration date.
You can stream until your subscription for your monthly plan expires at the end of your billing period.
If you cancel during your Saver plan subscription period, all monthly payments will remain payable for the remainder of the subscription. Once you cancel, you'll continue to have access to HBO Max until your subscription expires at the end of your 12-month billing period.

Third-party billing
Find who your subscription is billed through below:
If you're billed through the Amazon Appstore, here's how to cancel:
- Go to Amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions and sign in to your Amazon account.
- In the Your Subscriptions section, find HBO Max and turn off auto-renewal.
You should get an email from Amazon confirming your cancellation. You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

If you're billed through Roku, here's how to cancel:
- On your Roku remote, press the Home button.
To cancel on your phone or computer, go to Roku's Cancel a subscription article. - Use the directional pad on your remote to highlight HBO Max.
- Press the Star button (*) to open the Options menu.
- Choose Manage subscription and then Cancel subscription. If Manage subscription isn't available, try these same steps on each Roku you own.
You should get an email from Roku confirming your cancellation. You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.
If you're billed through Samsung, here's how to cancel:
- Go to samsungcheckout.com and sign in to your Samsung account.
To cancel on your Samsung TV, go to Samsung's Cancel subscription article. - From the Purchase History menu, choose Subscriptions.
- Find your HBO Max subscription and choose Unsubscribe.
Once cancelled, you should get an email from Samsung confirming your cancellation. You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

- Find HBO Max or TNT Sports in the Your Channels section.
- Choose the Cancel Channel option and confirm.
