How do I subscribe to HBO Max?

You can sign up at HBOMax.com or using the HBO Max app.

Choose how you'd like to sign up:

Here's how to subscribe to HBO Max:

Go to HBOMax.com/product.
Choose a bundle or plan, then continue.
On the Get Started screen, enter an email address for your HBO Max account (if you already have an HBO Max account, enter your account email).
Do one of the following:
- New subscribers: Complete the account form and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info. Check your email and password message?
- Returning subscribers: Enter your HBO Max password and choose Sign In.
  Forgot password? Try resetting your password. Can't sign in?
Add your payment method and start your subscription.
Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.

Now you can sign in and stream HBO Max on any supported device. Your subscription will auto-renew on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Open your phone's camera app and point your camera at the QR code on your TV. Then, tap the link that appears on your phone (iPhone or Android QR steps).

On your phone or computer, go to HBOMax.com/signup. Then, enter the 6-digit code from your TV. TV code not working?
Choose a subscription plan and billing period, then continue.
Follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe.
On your TV, choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.

Now you can sign in and stream HBO Max on any supported device. Your subscription will auto-renew on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Troubleshooting

'Check your email address and password' message

If you get this message, there may already be an HBO Max account with the email address you entered.

In this case, do one of the following:

Sign in. Sign in using the email address you entered on the 'Create Your Account' screen. If you have trouble signing in, try resetting your password. Can't sign in?
Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your HBO Max account.

If you're still having trouble subscribing, contact us.

TV code not working?

If the 6-character code isn't working, here are some things to try:

Try using a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari).
Try using a private or incognito browser window.
Try signing up on a different device.

Can't stream after resubscribing?

Try signing out and then back in again. Here's how:

In HBO Max, do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then choose Sign Out.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon and then Sign Out.
Sign in to HBO Max and try to watch something.

Can't solve the Captcha puzzle?

Sometimes we'll ask you to solve a puzzle to help keep your account secure. If you're having trouble with the Captcha puzzle challenge, choose Restart to start the challenge over.

You can also choose Audio Challenge to secure your account another way.

'That email address can’t be used' message

If you get this message, you may have signed up for an HBO Max account in another country or region with the email address you entered. To fix this issue, do one of the following:

Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your HBO Max account.

Change your account email. Sign in at HBOMax.com/account and change your email to a different email address. Then, go back to the Create Your Account screen and enter your original email address.
