Manage the Sports Add-On

When you add the Sports Add-On you can get front-row access to prestigious live events, league action, and tournaments. For more info, go to Sports Add-On.

You can add the Sports Add-On to your existing base subscription plan.

The Sports Add-On is available from the following providers:

  • HBOMax.com
  • Google Play
  • Samsung TV
  • Select internet, mobile, and TV providers

The Sports Add-On is billed monthly and pricing varies by country. For sports and pricing details, go to HBOMax.com/sports.

How do I add Sports to my plan?

You can add Sports to your existing base plan. Here's how:

  1. In HBO Max, do one of the following:
    • Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
    • TV device: Choose the Settings icon cog (lower left) and then Subscription.
      (Only Adult profiles can manage subscriptions.)
  2. Choose Get Add-Ons.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the Sports Add-On.
    If you get an error message, go to Troubleshooting.
  4. Confirm the change and add your payment information.

How do I remove Sports?

Step 1: Find who bills you

First, find who bills you for the Sports Add-On:

  1. Open HBO Max and do one of the following:
    • Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
    • TV device: Choose the Settings icon cog (lower left) and then Subscription.
  2. Take note of who your base plan and Sports Add-On are billed through. Your base plan and Sports Add-On can be billed by different parties.

If you added the Sports Add-On at HBOMax.com, the Sports Add-On will appear on your bank statement as WBDSports.

Step 2: Remove the Sports Add-On

Here's how to remove Sports:

  1. In HBO Max, do one of the following:
    • Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
    • TV device: Choose the Settings icon cog (lower left) and then Subscription.
      (Only Adult profiles can manage subscriptions.)
  2. Choose Remove Sports.
    No Remove Sports option? Take note of who your Sports Add-On is billed through and choose them in the Third-party billing section below.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the add-on.

When you remove the Sports Add-On, you can continue streaming sports until the end of your add-on billing period (and your base subscription plan will not be affected).

Once your subscription is updated, you should get an email confirming the change.

Third-party billing

Apple

Sports is included with the Premium & Sports base plan (current subscribers only). To remove Sports, you need to choose a different subscription plan. Here's how:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app (or go to Apple's Switch to a different plan article).
  2. Choose your name, then Subscriptions.
  3. Choose your HBO Max subscription.
  4. Choose See All Plans, then follow the on-screen instructions to change your plan.

Once your subscription is updated, you should get an email from Apple confirming the change.

Google Play

Here's how to remove the Sports Add-On billed through Google Play:

  1. On the Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store app.
    To cancel on your computer, go to Google's Cancel a subscription on Google Play article.
  2. At the top right, choose your profile icon.
  3. Choose Payments & subscriptions and then Subscriptions.
  4. Choose Sports in your list of subscriptions and then Cancel subscription.

Once cancelled, you should get an email from Google confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming sports until the end of your add-on billing period (and your base subscription plan will not be affected).

Samsung TV

Here's how to remove the Sports Add-On billed through Samsung:

  1. Go to samsungcheckout.com and sign in to your Samsung account.
    To cancel on your Samsung TV, go to Samsung's Cancel subscription article.
  2. From the Purchase History menu, choose Subscriptions.
  3. Find your Sports subscription and choose Unsubscribe.

Once canceled, you should get an email from Samsung confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming sports until the end of your add-on billing period (and your base subscription plan will not be affected).

Internet, mobile, or TV provider

To remove the Sports Add-On, sign in to your provider's website, go to their Help Center, or contact your provider for help.

Troubleshooting

Choose the message you're getting below:

Changes to your subscription can't be made on this device

If you get this message, follow these steps to add Sports.

First, find who bills you for your base subscription:

  1. Open HBO Max and do one of the following:
    • Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then Subscription.
    • TV device: Choose the Settings icon cog (lower left) and then Subscription.
      (Only Adult profiles can manage subscriptions.)
  2. Find who your base subscription is billed through (top of screen).
  3. Now, find who your subscription is billed through below:
  • Discovery Communications Benelux B.V.: Go to HBOMax.com/subscription, sign in (if needed), and choose Get Add-Ons
  • Amazon Appstore: Open HBO Max on an Amazon Fire TV or tablet, then follow the Add Sports steps above.
  • Apple: Change your subscription plan to Premium & Sports in Apple Settings. For more info, go to Change an Apple-billed plan.
  • Google Play: Open HBO Max on an Android TV, phone, or tablet, then follow the Add Sports steps above.
  • Samsung TV: Open HBO Max on a Samsung TV, then follow the Add Sports steps above.
Add Sports Through {provider name}

If you get this message, you need to contact your subscription provider (the company who your HBO Max base subscription is billed through) to add the Sports Add-On to your base plan.

Not Available With Your Provider

If you get this message, it means the Sports Add-On isn't available from your subscription provider (the company who your HBO Max base subscription is billed through). For more information, please contact your subscription provider.
