Sign in with a provider
If you get HBO Max with your TV package, internet service, or wireless plan, follow these sign-in steps.
Which device are you using?
Here's how to sign in through your TV, internet, or mobile provider:








- Open HBO Max and then tap the Profile icon

If you're already signed in, tap your profile (upper right), the Settings icon, and then scroll down and choose Sign Out.
- Tap Sign in to your account.
- Tap Sign in with a Provider.
iPhone or iPadTap Allow to let HBO Max use your TV provider information from iOS Settings, Otherwise, choose your TV provider. If you don't see your provider, scroll down and choose Other Providers at the bottom of the list.
- Choose the company you get HBO Max through. You may need to scroll down and choose View All Providers. My provider isn't listed
- Enter the username and password for your provider account. Can't sign in?
Can't Verify Your SubscriptionMake sure your provider account includes access to HBO Max. To do this, see Can't verify your subscription.
- If you're prompted to create an account:
- New to HBO Max? Enter your name and an email address and then choose Create Account.
- Already have an account? Enter your name and your existing account email address and then choose Create Account. Then, on the Account Found screen choose Verify Email Address. If you need help with this, see Account found: Verify email address.
- Choose who's watching and you're ready to stream.
Here's how to sign in through your TV, internet, or mobile provider:







- Go to HBOMax.com and then choose Sign In (upper right).
If you're already signed in, choose your profile (upper right) and then choose Sign Out. - Choose Sign in with a Provider.
- Choose the company you get HBO Max through. To find your provider, you may need to choose View All Providers. My provider isn't listed
- Enter the username and password for your provider account. Can't sign in?
Can't Verify Your SubscriptionMake sure your provider account includes access to HBO Max. To do this, see Can't verify your subscription.
- If you're prompted to create an account:
- New to HBO Max? Enter your name and an email address and then choose Create Account.
- Already have an account? Enter your name and your existing account email address and then choose Create Account. Then, on the Account Found screen choose Verify Email Address. If you need help with this, see Account found: Verify email address.
- Choose who's watching and you're ready to stream.
Here's how to sign in through your TV, internet, or mobile provider:
Apple TV
- Open HBO Max on your Apple TV, choose the Profile icon
and then choose Sign In.
If you're already signed in, see How do I sign out? - Choose Sign in with a Provider.
- Choose one of the following:
- Allow: Choose Allow to let HBO Max use your TV provider information from Apple TV Settings. If you see a screen with a 6-character code, follow the steps below.
- Don't Allow: Choose Don't Allow if you don't want HBO Max to use your TV provider information from Apple TV Settings. Then, stay on the screen with the QR code and follow the steps below.
Now, on your phone or computer:
- Open a web browser and go to: hbomax.com/activate.
- Enter the 6-character code from your TV and choose Next. Code not working?
- Choose the company you get HBO Max through. To find your provider, you may need to scroll down and choose View All Providers. My provider isn't listed
- Enter the username and password for your provider account. Can't sign in?

Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, PlayStation, or Roku
On your TV:
- Open HBO Max, choose the Profile icon
and then choose Sign In.

- Stay on the screen with the 6-character code while you grab your phone or computer.
- Open a web browser and go to: hbomax.com/activate.
- Enter the 6-character code from your TV and choose Next. Code not working?

- Enter the username and password for your provider account. Can't sign in?

- Enter the 6-character code from your TV and choose Next. Code not working?

Troubleshooting
Code not working?
Here are some things to try:
- Enter the code from your TV at hbomax.com/activate on your computer instead of your phone (or vice versa).
- Try using a different web browser: Chrome, FireFox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari.
- Try clearing your browser data. Here's how:
- iPhone or iPad: On your iOS device, go to Settings > Safari, then scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data. To learn more, go to Clear Safari.
- Android phone: Try clearing your Chrome browsing data on your Android device. To find out how to do this, see Clear cache & cookies.
