How do I subscribe to HBO Max?
You can sign up for HBO Max on your device or through a third-party provider.
Streaming HBO Max after you sign up
You can sign up and stream through HBOMax.com, Prime Video Channels, or supported devices. If HBO Max isn’t available in your TV app store, you can stream via Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, PlayStation, or Xbox. Choose a subscription plan and billing period, then continue.
On the Get Started screen, enter an email address for your HBO Max account (if you already have an HBO Max account, enter your account email).
Do one of the following:
New subscribers: Complete the account form and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info. Check your email and password message?
Returning subscribers: Enter your HBO Max password and choose Sign In.
Forgot password? Try resetting your password.
Add your payment method and start your subscription.
Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.
Now you can sign in and stream HBO Max on any supported device. Your subscription will auto-renew on a recurring basis until you cancel.

The first time you use a new Adult profile, you can personalize your experience by choosing your favorite genres, brands, shows, and movies. To get started, choose Let's Go. If you don't want to share your preferences, choose Skip to start streaming.
Are you a new or returning HBO Max subscriber?

On the Get Started screen, enter an email address for your HBO Max account. You'll sign in with this info.
Complete the account form and choose Create Account.
Check your inbox for an email sent by HBO Max (email subject: Finish setting up your HBO Max subscription). This email should arrive within a few minutes. Be sure to search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam). Didn't get the email?
Select Choose your plan inside the email and choose a subscription plan and billing period, then continue.
Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.

Sign up through a provider
Subscription plans vary by provider. For a complete list of providers, go to HBO Max providers.
Prime Video members can add HBO Max to Prime Video Subscriptions. You can also subscribe without a Prime Video subscription. To subscribe through Prime Video, go to primevideo.com/hbomax. Once you add HBO Max, you can stream all of HBO Max using the Prime Video app.
To stream using the HBO Max app, download the HBO Max app and Activate HBO Max before signing in to HBO Max.
Troubleshooting
If you get this message, there may already be an HBO Max account with the email address you entered.
In this case, do one of the following:
Sign in. Sign in using the email address you entered on the 'Create Your Account' screen. If you have trouble signing in, try resetting your password.
Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your HBO Max account.
If you're still having trouble subscribing, contact us.
If the 6-digit code isn't working, here are some things to try:
Try scanning the QR code on your TV with your phone's camera app.
Try using a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari).
Try using a private or incognito browser window.
Try signing up on a different device.
Try signing out and then back in again. Here's how:
In HBO Max, do one of the following:
Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then choose Sign Out.
TV device: Choose the Settings icon
and then Sign Out.
Sign in to HBO Max and try to watch something.
If this doesn't help, go to Fix an HBO Max subscription issue.
If you're signing up at HBOMax.com, go to Can't add a payment method.
If you're signing up through the HBO Max app, check with your app store to find out which payment methods are accepted. Not all payment methods are accepted for recurring subscriptions.
If you're signing up through another provider, check with them to find out what payment methods they accept.
Sometimes we'll ask you to solve a puzzle to help keep your account secure. If you're having trouble with the Captcha puzzle, choose Restart to try again or Audio Challenge to access your account another way.
If you get this message, you may have signed up for an HBO Max account in another country or region with the email address you entered. To fix this issue, do one of the following:
Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your HBO Max account.
Change your account email. Sign in at HBOMax.com/account and change your email to a different email address. Then, go back to the Create Your Account screen and enter your original email address.
