Install HBO Max on supported devices

• Amazon Fire tablets (with the then current operating system or its two previous versions)

Install: On your Amazon Fire tablet, choose Apps, and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then the download option.

Update: On your Amazon Fire tablet, choose Apps, and search for HBO Max. If an update is available, choose Update.

• Select Android phones and tablets (with the then current operating system or its two previous versions), except for Huawei devices and the following device models:
  
  • Google: Pixelbook, Pixel Slate
  • Lenovo: K5X

Install: On your Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then the download option.

Installing HBO Max from somewhere other than the official Google Play app store is not supported.

Update: On your Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store and search for HBO Max. If an update is available, choose Update.

The HBO Max mobile app is not currently supported on Google Chromebooks. To stream on Google Chromebooks, go to HBOMax.com with the Chrome browser.

• Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch (with the then current operating system or its two previous versions)

Install: On your Apple device, open the App Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then the download option.

Update: On your Apple device, open the App Store and search for HBO Max. If an app update is available, choose Update.

• Amazon Fire TV devices (with the then current operating system or its two previous versions)

Install: On your Amazon Fire TV, choose Find and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then the download option.

Update: On your Amazon Fire TV, highlight the HBO Max tile and then press the Menu button on your remote (button with three lines). In the lower-right corner, choose More Info > Update.

• Select Android TV devices (with the then current version of Android TV OS or its two previous versions)
  This includes Smart TVs with Android TV built-in and Chromecast with Google TV, except for Huawei devices and the following TV models:
  
  • Philips: QM16XE_U, philips_MT5593FHT_EU, QV151E, MT5593Uplus
  • LGU+: U+ tv woofer, U+ tv UHD
  • Freebox: Mini 4K

Install: On your Android TV, open the Play Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then choose Install.

The HBO Max app is supported on Google Play and Dolby certified devices installed from the official Google Play app store. Installing HBO Max from somewhere other than the official Google Play app store is not supported.

Update: On your Android TV, highlight the HBO Max app, then press and hold the Select button, and choose View Details > Update.

• Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD (with the then current tvOS)

Install: On your Apple TV, open the App Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then the download option.

Update: Go to the App Store and search for HBO Max. If there’s an update available, choose Update.

• EE TV Box Pro and EE TV Box Mini devices with the latest operating system version

Install: On the home screen of your EE TV device, go to Apps and then choose HBO Max.

Update: Go to Settings > Software Information and choose Update players and apps.

• Hisense VIDAA TV (with the then current version of VIDAA OS or its two previous versions)

Install: On your VIDAA TV, open the VIDAA App Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Install.

Update: on your VIDAA TV, open the VIDAA App Store and go to My Apps, highlight HBO Max, and choose Update (if available).

No HBO Max app? If the HBO Max app isn't in the VIDAA app store, go to TV device not supported?

• LG Smart TV (with the then current version of webOS or its two previous versions)

Install: On your LG TV, open the LG Content Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Install.

Update: On your LG TV, choose LG Content Store > Apps > My Apps, then select HBO Max and choose Update.

If HBO Max isn't in the LG content store, your LG TV may not be supported.

No HBO Max app? If the HBO Max app isn't available for your TV, go to TV device not supported?

• NOW Smart Box with 4K & Voice Search, NOW Smart Box, and NOW Box with the latest operating system version

Install: On your NowTV device, go to Streaming Store > Search and enter HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Add app.

Update: highlight HBO Max channel, press Star button, Check for updates.

• Philips Titan TV (with the then current version of TitanOS or its two previous versions)

Install: On your Titan TV, go to Apps and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Install.

Update: On your Titan TV, go to Apps and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Update.

If HBO Max isn’t in the app store on your Titan TV, your TV might not be supported.

No HBO Max app? If the HBO Max app isn’t available for your TV, go to TV device is not supported?

• PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

Install:

1. On your PlayStation, do one of the following:
   
   • PlayStation 4: Go to the PlayStation Store and search for HBO Max.
   • PlayStation 5: Go to Media > All Apps and search for HBO Max.
2. Choose HBO Max and then Download.

Update: On your PlayStation, highlight HBO Max, press the Options button on your controller, and then choose Check for Update.

• Select Roku TV devices and streaming players (with the then current operating system version)

Install: On your Roku device, go to Streaming Store > Search and enter HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Add app.

Update: On your Roku device, highlight the HBO Max channel, press the Star button (*) on your remote, and then choose Check for updates.

• Select Samsung TV devices (with the then current operating system or its two previous versions)

Install: First, sign in to your Samsung account on your TV. Then, on your Samsung TV, choose Apps, and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Install.

If you can't install the HBO Max app, your Samsung TV may be low on storage space. Try deleting an app before you install the HBO Max app.

Update: Press the Home button on your remote, then choose Apps > the Settings icon > Updates.

No HBO Max app? If the HBO Max app isn't in the Samsung app store, go to TV device not supported?

• Sky Glass, Sky Glass Air, Sky Q, and Sky Stream with the latest operating system version

Install: On the home screen of your Sky device, go to Apps and then choose HBO Max.

Update: The HBO Max app on Sky TV devices automatically updates when available. To manually check, go to Settings > System Info > Software version > Setup > Software download.

• Select Vestel TiVo TVs (with the then current operating system or its two previous versions)

Install: Press the Home or Menu button on your Vestel TiVo TV, then go to Apps, and choose HBO Max.

No HBO Max app? If the HBO Max app isn't available for your TV, go to TV device not supported?

• Horizon and Stream Boxes with the latest operating system version

Install: Press the Home or Menu button on your Virgin Media Stream Box remote, then go to Apps, and choose HBO Max.

No HBO Max app? If the HBO Max app isn't available for your TV, go to TV device not supported?

• Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S

Install: Go to the Store on your Xbox console and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Install.

Update: On your Xbox, go to My games & apps, highlight HBO Max and press the Menu button on your controller, choose Manage app, and then select Updates.
