Install HBO Max on supported devices
You can stream HBO Max on phones, tablets, computers, TVs, streaming players, and game consoles.
To start streaming today, install the HBO Max app or go to HBOMax.com on your computer.
Choose a device type:
Choose a supported device for install and update steps:
- Amazon Fire tablets (with Fire OS 6 or later)
Install: On your Amazon Fire tablet, choose Apps, and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then the download option.
Update: On your Amazon Fire tablet, choose Apps, and search for HBO Max. If an update is available, choose Update.
- Most Android phones and tablets (with Android OS 7.1 or later)
Install: On your Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then the download option.
Installing HBO Max from somewhere other than the official Google Play app store is not supported.
Update: On your Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store and search for HBO Max. If an update is available, choose Update.
The HBO Max mobile app is not currently supported on Google Chromebooks. To stream on Google Chromebooks, go to HBOMax.com with the Chrome browser.
Subscribe or sign in
Once you have the HBO Max app installed, do one of the following:
- New subscriber? Open HBO Max and choose Subscribe Now.
- Have an HBO Max account? Open HBO Max and choose Sign In (if your subscription has expired, you'll be prompted to renew your subscription).
Need help signing in? Go to Can't sign in.
You can stream on your PC, Mac, or Google Chromebook at HBOMax.com.

- Amazon Fire TV devices with Fire OS 6 or later
This includes the Amazon Fire TV Stick, Echo Show 15, and Smart TVs with Fire TV built in.
Install: On your Amazon Fire TV, choose Find and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then the download option.
Update: On your Amazon Fire TV, highlight the HBO Max tile and then press the Menu button on your remote (button with three lines). In the lower-right corner, choose More Info > Update.
- Android TV devices with Android TV OS 7.1 or later
This includes Smart TVs with Android TV built-in (e.g. most Sony Android TVs, 2015 models and later) and Chromecast with Google TV.
Install: On your Android TV, open the Play Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then choose Install.
The HBO Max app is supported on Google Play and Dolby certified devices installed from the official Google Play app store. Installing HBO Max from somewhere other than the official Google Play app store is not supported.
Update: On your Android TV, highlight the HBO Max app, then press and hold the Select button, and choose View Details > Update.
- Hisense VIDAA TV with OS 6.0 or later
Install: On your VIDAA TV, open the VIDAA App Store and search for HBO Max. Choose HBO Max and then Install.
Update: On your VIDAA TV, open the VIDAA App Store and go to My Apps, highlight HBO Max, and choose Update (if available).
No HBO Max app? If the HBO Max app isn't in the VIDAA app store, go to TV device not supported?

If the HBO Max app isn't available on your TV device, here are some other ways to stream on your TV:
