Can't sign in to HBO Max
Which device are you using?
If you can't sign in on your phone or tablet, try the following:
Try signing in to HBO Max on another supported device, e.g. a computer at HBOMax.com or your TV.
If you can sign in on another device, see Troubleshoot phone or tablet. If you still can't sign in, try the next step.
Try resetting your password. If this doesn't work, see Can't reset password.
If you started your subscription using the HBO Max app, try restoring your app store subscription.
Try clearing the HBO Max cache:
- Go to Settings on your Android device.
- Tap Search and type HBO Max.
- Choose HBO Max from the search results.
- Tap Storage & cache or Storage.
- Tap Clear cache.
- Open HBO Max, sign in, and then try streaming again.
Delete the HBO Max app from your phone or tablet and install it again. Then, open HBO Max and try signing in again.
Here are some things to try:
Try signing in to HBO Max on another supported device (phone, tablet, or TV).
If you can't sign in on any device, try resetting your password. Here's how:
- Go to HBOMax.com/forgot-password.
- Enter your account email and then choose Submit.
- Check your inbox for a 'Reset Your HBO Max Password' email sent by HBO Max. This email should arrive within a few minutes.
No Reset Password Email?This means the email you entered isn't in use by an HBO Max account. Do you have another email address? Repeat these steps for each of your email addresses. Need help? See Can't reset password
- Open the 'Reset Your HBO Max Password' email and choose Reset Password.
- Enter a new password and then choose Save Password.
- Make sure you're using a supported browser.
- Check to see if there's an update available for your browser. To find out how to do this, search the Internet for update + the name of your browser (i.e. update Chrome).
Try using another supported browser. This will help determine if the issue is limited to a particular browser. Make sure cookies are enabled in your browser.
- Clear your browser's cookies for HBOMax.com. To find out how to do this, search your browser's help for 'cookies.'
- Close and reopen your browser.
- Go to HBOMax.com and try signing in again.
If you still can't sign in, try clearing your browser's cache. To find out how to do this, search your browser's help for 'clear cache.'
If you can't sign in on your TV device, try these steps:
Try signing in to HBO Max on your phone, tablet, or computer (at HBOMax.com).
If you can't sign in on any device, try resetting your password. If this doesn't work, see Can't reset password.
