BT / EE – Get HBO Max shows and movies
If you subscribe to TNT Sports through BT / EE, there are a few different ways you can get access to HBO Max shows and movies. If you don't have TNT Sports through BT / EE, but you want to watch live sports on HBO Max, go to TNT Sports on HBO Max.

How you get access to HBO Max shows and movies depends on how you subscribe to TNT Sports through BT / EE:
If your EE TV package includes the NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership, you have access to the HBO Max Basic with Ads plan. For help accessing your Basic with Ads plan on the HBO Max app, go to the activation steps below.
The HBO Max Basic with Ads plan includes original HBO Max shows and programming, including The Pitt, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Euphoria, and more.
Other HBO Max Basic with Ads plan features:
- Stream on 2 devices at once
- Full HD 1080p resolution
Note The Basic with Ads plan does not include all movies (excludes movies that first stream on HBO Max following their cinema release window).
If your BT / EE package doesn't include the NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership, you can sign up for an HBO Max plan that includes shows and movies directly through us at HBOMax.com.

- Activate your TNT Sports plan before your NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership.
- After you activate TNT Sports, use the same email address for BT/EE, HBO Max, and NOW.

BT / EE Q&A
How you activate HBO Max depends on whether you have the NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership as part of your TV package or as an add-on. When activating your plans, use the same email address for BT/EE, HBO Max, and NOW.
How do you get your NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership?
- Go to Activate HBO Max via NOW, sign in to your NOW account, and activate HBO Max.
- Enter a new email address or the existing email address associated with your HBO Max account.
- If prompted, do one of the following:
- New subscribers: Complete the account form and choose Create Account.
- Returning subscribers: Check your inbox for an email sent by HBO Max (email subject: Time Sensitive: Your One-Time HBO Max Code) and enter the 6-digit code from your email, and confirm.
- Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to go!
You can now sign in to HBO Max on any supported device using your HBO Max account.
- Go to Activate HBO Max via NOW, sign in to your NOW account, and activate HBO Max.
- Enter a new email address or the existing email address associated with your HBO Max account.
- If prompted, do one of the following:
- New subscribers: Complete the account form and choose Create Account.
- Returning subscribers: Check your inbox for an email sent by HBO Max (email subject: Time Sensitive: Your One-Time HBO Max Code) and enter the 6-digit code from your email, and confirm.
- Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to go!
You can now sign in to HBO Max on any supported device using your HBO Max account.

Once you've activated HBO Max, you can sign in to the HBO Max app on any supported device using your HBO Max email and password.
Yes. During the activation process, enter the email address associated with your existing HBO Max account. You'll receive a one-time code by email to verify your account and link your BT / EE subscription.
Things to know
- Once you activate your NOW membership, you'll need to contact NOW or BT / EE to manage your subscription. Plan changes are not available in the HBO Max app or on HBOMax.com.
- If you already have an active HBO Max subscription, activating your BT / EE subscription via NOW will add a second subscription to your account.
After you activate, use the email and password you created or used to sign up for HBO Max. For more info, go to Sign in to HBO Max.

If you signed up for a plan directly through us, you can manage it in the HBO Max app or at HBOMax.com.
If you activated via NOW, the HBO Max Basic with Ads plan is the only plan available. If you would like to change your plan, contact BT / EE or NOW to manage your subscription.
You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.
Contact BT / EE to manage your subscription. You can also manage your subscription by following the steps for your service below.
- Sign in to your EE account at www.ee.co.uk.
- Choose Extras > Manage Extras.
- Find the NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership and manage from there.
- Sign in to your MyBT account at www.bt.com.
- Choose Your Products > Your TV and Sport.
- Find the NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership under Monthly TV extras and manage from there.
If you added an HBO Max plan directly through HBO Max, you can manage your plan separately. For more info, go to Change an HBO Max-billed subscription.
You can stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

If you're having trouble activating HBO Max through BT / EE, try the following:
- Make sure you have an active NOW Entertainment & HBO Max Membership through your BT / EE subscription. Contact BT / EE to confirm.
- If you don't see an option to activate, try signing out and signing back in to your NOW account.
- If you didn't receive the one-time code email, search all inbox folders (including Promotions, Junk, and Spam). You can also choose Get New Code on the enter code screen.
- Make sure you're using a supported device and have the latest version of the HBO Max app.
