How do I watch sports?
You can watch sports on up to 2 devices at a time.
Here's how to watch sports:
- In HBO Max, choose Sports.
Here you'll find live and upcoming games and sports events, along with recent highlights and replays. - Choose the sports event you want to watch.
- Choose Watch Live to start watching the event in progress or Watch from Start
to start watching at the beginning.
Things to know about watching Sports on HBO Max:
- Player controls: When watching a live event you can pause, fast forward, rewind, and jump to what's happening live (Go Live button). For more info, go to HBO Max player controls.
- Devices: Sports can be streamed on any supported device. Depending on your device, you can watch live sports in up to HD 1080p with SDR and Dolby Atmos audio. You can also use Chromecast, AirPlay, or an HDMI cable to watch live sports on your TV.
- Quality: Depending on your device and the speed of your internet connection, you can watch live sports in up to HD 1080p with SDR and Dolby Atmos audio. Select events are available in HDR10 or Dolby Vision.
- Replays: Replays are available for select events after the broadcast ends.
- Ads: Live sports have the same commercials that air during the TV broadcast of the event.
- Alerts: Alerts let you know about key moments in related sports events—for example, when a goal is scored. Choose the alert to start watching the other event. Select the Alerts icon (upper right) in the video player to turn alerts on or off.
