How do I change my payment method?

HBO Max subscriptions are available through many providers, and the change payment steps vary by billing provider. Your billing provider is who you signed up through or who bills you for HBO Max.

Who's billing me?

To find your billing provider, do the following:

  1. Open HBO Max or sign in to HBOMax.com on your computer. Can't sign in?
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Phone or tablet: Tap the Profile icon (bottom edge on phones, left edge on tablets) and then the Settings icon (upper left). Choose Subscription.
    • Computer: Choose your profile (upper right), then choose Subscription.
      Subscription information is only available with Adult profiles.
    • TV device: Choose the Settings icon (lower left) and then choose Account.
  3. Here you can see who your subscription is billed through.
  4. To find out how to change your payment method, find your provider below.

Other ways to find your billing provider

  • HBOMax.com/account: Go to HBOMax.com/account and sign in to your account.
  • Bank statement: Review your bank statement for an HBO Max subscription charge. (If your subscription is part of a TV package or wireless plan, you may not see an individual charge for HBO Max.)

Change your payment method

If you’re billed through us (HBO Nordic AB or HBO Europe, s.r.o.), here's how to change your payment method:

HBO Max mobile app

On your phone or tablet, do the following:

  1. Open HBO Max and then tap the Profile icon (bottom edge on phones, left edge on tablets). Can't sign in?
  2. Tap the Settings icon (upper left) and then tap Subscription.
  3. Tap Manage Subscription. If you don't have a Manage Subscription option, take note of who your subscription is billed through and find them in the Third-party billing providers section below.
  4. Tap Edit Payment Method.
  5. Edit your payment info and choose Save.
  6. Your bank may require you to verify your identity using 3D-Secure before authorizing the transaction. If you have trouble with 3D-Secure, please contact your bank.

Your updated payment info will be used for your next subscription charge.

Payment Error
If you get an error or can't save your payment method, see Can't change payment method.
Computer

On your computer, do the following:

  1. Go to HBOMax.com on your computer and sign in (if needed). Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile (upper right) and then Subscription.
  3. Choose Manage Subscription. If you don't have a Manage Subscription option, take note of who your subscription is billed through and find them in the Third-party billing providers section below.
  4. Edit your payment info and choose Save.
  5. Your bank may require you to verify your identity using 3D-Secure before authorizing the transaction. If you have trouble with 3D-Secure, please contact your bank.

Your updated payment info will be used for your next subscription charge.

  • TV provider: Sign in to your TV provider's website, go to their Help Center, or contact them.
  • Other provider: Sign in to your provider's website, go to their Help Center, or contact them.
