Change HBO Max payment method

HBO Max subscriptions are available through many providers and how you change your payment varies by provider. If you know who bills you, skip to Step 2.

Step 1: Find out who bills you

You can find out who bills you in Settings. Open HBO Max or go to HBOMax.com and then:

  • Phone or tablet: Tap your profile (upper right), then the Settings icon Settings icon (upper right), and then tap or scroll to Subscription.
  • Computer: Choose your profile (upper right), then choose Settings, and find Subscription.
  • TV device: Choose the Settings icon Settings icon (lower left), then choose Account.

Here you'll find who your subscription is billed through. (Subscription information is only available with Adult profiles.)

You can also review your bank statement for an HBO Max subscription charge or ask your TV provider if they bill you for HBO Max.

Step 2: Change your payment method

Select who bills you for HBO Max and follow the steps:

App store
Amazon

Samsung TV
Sign in to your Samsung account at samsungcheckout.com.
TV, internet, or wireless provider
AT&T
Sign in to your AT&T account at att.com/my.
Hulu
See Hulu's Update your payment info article.
Verizon Fios
Sign in to your Verizon account at verizon.com/home/myverizon or use the My Fios app.
Verizon +play
Sign in to your Verizon account at verizon.com/home/myverizon. Choose +play, and then Manage. (+play is not currently available in the My Verizon app.)
Xfinity
Sign in to your Xfinity account at my.xfinity.com or visit the Xfinity Help Center.
YouTube TV

Other provider
Sign in to your provider's website, go to their Help Center, or contact your provider.
Warner Media Direct (HBOMax.com)

Here's how to change your payment method:

Phone or tablet
  1. Open HBO Max and then tap your profile icon (upper right). Can't sign in?
  2. Tap the Settings icon (cog, upper right) and then tap or scroll to Subscription.
  3. Tap Manage Subscription.
    If you don't have a Manage Subscription option, take note of who your subscription is billed through and find them above.
  4. Tap Edit Payment Method.
  5. Add your payment info and choose Save Changes. Your updated payment info will be used for your next subscription charge.
Payment Error
If you get an error or can't save your payment method, see Can't change payment method.
Computer
  1. Go to HBOMax.com on your computer and sign in (if needed). Can't sign in?
  2. Choose your profile (upper right), then choose Settings, and find Subscription.
  3. Choose Manage Subscription.
    If you don't have a Manage Subscription option, take note of who your subscription is billed through and find them in them above.
  4. Choose Edit Payment Method.
  5. Add your payment info and choose Save Changes. Your updated payment info will be used for your next subscription charge.
