How do I subscribe to HBO Max?

- Find out if you already have access to HBO Max (e.g., HBO subscribers).
- You can sign up on your device or through a third-party provider.

Choose how you'd like to sign up:

- Choose a subscription plan and billing period, then continue.
- Complete the account form and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info.
Check your email and password message? - Add your payment method and start your subscription.
Your bank may require you to verify your identity with 3D-Secure before authorizing the transaction. If you have trouble with 3D-Secure, please contact your bank. - Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.
Once you subscribe, you can sign in and stream HBO Max on any supported device. Your subscription will auto-renew on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Sign up through a provider
Subscription plans vary by provider. For a complete list of providers, go to HBO Max providers.
Choose how you'd like to sign up:
Contact your internet, mobile, or TV provider to sign up for HBO Max. For a list of providers, go to HBO Max providers.
Once you've signed up for HBO Max, download the HBO Max app and Activate your HBO Max subscription.
Amazon Prime members can add HBO Max to Prime Video Channels. To subscribe through Amazon Prime, go to amazon.com/channels/max.
Once you add HBO Max, you can stream all of HBO Max using the Prime Video app. To stream using the HBO Max app, download the HBO Max app and Activate your HBO Max subscription.
Troubleshooting
If you get this message, there may already be an HBO Max account with the email address you entered.
In this case, do one of the following:
- Sign in. Sign in using the email address you entered on the 'Create Your Account' screen. If you have trouble signing in, try resetting your password.
- Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your HBO Max account.
If you're still having trouble subscribing, contact us.
If the 6-character code isn't working, here are some things to try:
- Try using a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari).
- Try using a private or incognito browser window.
- Enter the code from your TV on your computer instead of your phone (or vice versa).
- Try signing up on a different device.
Try signing out and then back in again. Here's how:
- In HBO Max, do one of the following:
- Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then choose Sign Out.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon
and then Sign Out.
- Sign in to HBO Max and try to watch something.
If this doesn't help, go to Fix an HBO Max subscription issue.
If you're signing up at HBO.Max.com, go to Can't add a payment method.
If you're signing up through the HBO Max app, check with your app store to find out which payment methods are accepted. Not all payment methods are accepted for recurring subscriptions.
If you're signing up through another provider, check with them to find out what payment methods they accept.
Sometimes we'll ask you to solve a puzzle to help keep your account secure. If you're having trouble with the Captcha puzzle challenge, choose Restart to start the challenge over.
You can also choose Audio Challenge to secure your account another way.
If you get this message, you may have signed up for an HBO Max account in another country or region with the email address you entered. To fix this issue, do one of the following:
Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your HBO Max account.
Change your account email. Sign in at HBO.Max.com/account and change your email to a different email address. Then, go back to the Create Your Account screen and enter your original email address.
