Here are some frequently asked questions and answers:
Paying for HBO Max
HBO Max is available from many providers and prices vary by provider, subscription plan, and country. For pricing info, see HBOMax.com.
Depending on your location, you may be charged local taxes. Some financial institutions may add transaction fees if you aren't using a local payment method. These fees are charged by your bank—contact your bank directly if you have any questions.
Please note that your credit or debit card needs to support automatic recurring payments.
- App store: Check with your app store (Apple, Google Play, Roku, or Samsung TV) to find out which payment methods are accepted.
- TV or mobile provider: Check with your provider to find out which payment methods are accepted.
- HBOMax.com: If you sign up through us at HBOMax.com, you can use Visa or Mastercard. Additional payment methods are accepted in the following countries:
- Argentina: Argencard, Cabal (credit or debit), Diners, Falabella, Maestro Debit, and Naranja
- Brazil: Elo (credit), Mastercard from Bank C6, Bradesco, Inter Bank, Itaú, and NuBank (debit)
- Chile: American Express, CMR, Diners, MACH Virtual Card, Magna, Presto, Ripley, and WebPay Plus (debit)
- Colombia: American Express
- Mexico: Carnet (credit or debit)
- Uruguay: Lider and OCA
- Panama: Clave

Recurring billing
HBO Max is available from many providers. To find out who bills you:
- Open HBO Max or sign in to HBOMax.com on your computer. Can't sign in?
- Do one of the following:
- Phone or tablet: Tap your profile (upper right), the Settings icon
, and then tap or scroll to Subscription.
- Web: Sign in at HBOMax.com/account.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon
, then choose Account.
- Computer: Choose your profile (upper right), then choose Settings, and find Subscription.
(Subscription information is only available for Adult profiles.)
- Phone or tablet: Tap your profile (upper right), the Settings icon
- Here you'll find who your subscription is billed through.
You can also review your bank statement for an HBO Max subscription charge. (If your subscription is part of a TV package or wireless plan, you may not see an individual charge for HBO Max.)
If your subscription doesn't include a free trial, your first charge happens when you start your subscription. You pay for your subscription at the beginning of each billing cycle. Your subscription will auto-renew until you cancel your subscription.

Note: If you subscribe to the Mobile plan, open HBO Max on your phone or tablet. - Do one of the following:

, and then tap or scroll to Subscription.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon
, then choose Account.
- Computer: Choose your profile (upper right), then choose Settings, and find Subscription.
Subscription information is only available with Adult profiles.

- Here you can see your billing provider. Choose Learn more or find your billing provider below:
- WarnerMedia Direct Latin America, LLC: Take note of the Next Billing Date or auto-renewal date.
- Apple iTunes or App Store: See What's my next billing date?
- Google Play: See When will my subscription renew?
- Roku: See When will my subscription renew?
- Samsung: See When will my subscription renew?
- Other provider: Choose Learn More or find your provider on this page.
HBO Max subscriptions automatically renew each billing period until you cancel your subscription.
Billing support
If you can't add or update your payment method, see Can't change payment method.
Depending on your provider, you can may have one of these subscription plans:
- Standard plan
- Mobile plan (not available to new or returning subscribers)
For pricing info, please see HBOMax.com. If your charge looks different than you expected, here are a few possible reasons:
- Applicable taxes are added to your subscription charge and they're based on your current location.
- You may have a different plan or billing period than you thought. See Which plan do I have?
- Your promotional or discounted period may have ended and you were charged the standard subscription rate.
If none of these reasons apply and you're billed through us (WarnerMedia), contact us. If you're billed through another company, contact them for help.
If you didn't sign up for HBO Max, find the HBO Max charge on your bank statement.
If you were charged by:
- An app store (Apple, Google, Roku, or Samsung): Cancel the HBO Max subscription in the app store or contact their customer support for help.
- help.HBOMax.com: Take note of the date and charge amount. Make sure you have your card information and billing address ZIP Code, then contact us for help.
