Change an HBO Max subscription

HBO Max subscriptions are available through many providers, and the steps for changing your subscription vary by provider. If you know who bills you, skip to Step 2.

Step 1: Find who bills you

You can find out who bills you in Settings. Open HBO Max or go to HBOMax.com and then:

  • Phone or tablet: Tap your profile (upper right), then the Settings icon Settings icon (upper right), and then tap or scroll to Subscription.
  • Computer: Choose your profile (upper right), then choose Settings, and find Subscription.
  • TV device: Choose the Settings icon Settings icon (lower left), then choose Account.

Here you'll find who your subscription is billed through. (Subscription information is only available with Adult profiles.)

You can also review your bank statement for an HBO Max subscription charge or ask your TV, wireless, or internet provider if they bill you for HBO Max.

Step 2: Change your subscription

AT&T
Sign in to your AT&T account at att.com/my or use the MyAT&T app.
Cricket Wireless
Your HBO Max with Ads subscription is included with your Cricket Wireless Unlimited plan. To learn more, see Sign in through Cricket Wireless.
Cox
Sign in at cox.com or go to the Cox Help Center.
DIRECTV
Sign in to your myAT&T account at att.com/myatt or go to DirectTV's Remove premium channels article.
DISH
Sign in to your MyDISH account at my.dish.com or go to the Manage your DISH programming article.
Hulu
Sign in to your Hulu account at hulu.com/account or go to Hulu's Manage add-ons article.
Optimum
Sign in to optimum.net/login or call 866-213-8225.
Prime Video Channels
Sign in to your Amazon account at Manage your Prime Video Channels.
Spectrum
Verizon Fios
Sign in to your Verizon account at My Verizon or use the My Fios app.
Verizon +play
Sign in to your Verizon account at verizon.com/home/myverizon. Choose +play, and then Manage. (+play is not currently available in the My Verizon app.)
Xfinity
Sign in to your Xfinity account at my.xfinity.com or go to the Xfinity Help Center.
YouTube TV
Sign in to your Google account at tv.youtube.com or go to YouTube's Add or remove networks article.
Other provider
Go to your provider's website and sign in to your account or visit your provider's Help Center.
Warner Media Direct (HBOMax.com)

Here's how to change your subscription:

Phone or tablet
  1. Open the HBO Max app and then tap your profile (upper right). Need sign in help?
  2. Tap the Settings icon Settings icon (upper right) and then tap or scroll to Subscription.
  3. Tap Manage Subscription.
    Manage Subscription isn't available? Take note of who your subscription is billed through and find them above.
  4. Here you can switch plans, edit your payment method, or cancel your subscription.

Computer
  1. Go to HBOMax.com and sign in (if needed). Need sign in help?
  2. Choose your profile (upper right), then choose Settings, and find Subscription.
  3. Choose Manage Subscription.

  4. Here you can switch plans, edit your payment method, or cancel your subscription.
