How do I cancel HBO Max?
- Your HBO Max subscription will auto-renew until you cancel it.
- Cancel 1-2 days before your subscription renews (this varies by provider).
- Deleting the HBO Max app does not cancel your subscription.
HBO Max subscriptions are available through many providers, and the cancellation steps vary by provider. If you know who bills you, skip to Step 2.

Step 1: Find out who bills you
You can find out who bills you in Settings. Open HBO Max or go to HBOMax.com and then:
- Phone or tablet: Tap your profile (upper right), then the Settings icon
, and then tap or scroll to Subscription.
- Computer: Choose your profile (upper right), then choose Settings, and find Subscription.
- TV device: Choose the Settings icon
, then choose Account.
Here you'll find who your subscription is billed through. (Subscription information is only available with Adult profiles.)
You can also review your bank statement for an HBO Max subscription charge or ask your TV provider if they bill you for HBO Max.
Step 2: Cancel your subscription
Select who bills you for HBO Max and follow the cancellation steps:
Here's how to cancel your subscription on the web:
- Go to Amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions and sign in to your Amazon account.
- In the Your Subscriptions section, find HBO Max and turn off auto-renewal.
You should get an email from Amazon confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period.

Here's how to cancel your subscription in iOS Settings:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions (if prompted, log in with your Apple ID).
- Find and tap your HBO Max subscription.

You should get an email from Apple confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming until your subscription expires at the end of your billing cycle.

Here's how to cancel your subscription:
- On the Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store app.
To cancel on your computer, go to Google's Cancel subscription on Google Play article. - At the top right, tap your profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions and then Subscriptions.
- Tap HBO Max in your list of subscriptions, and then Cancel subscription.
You should get an email from Google Play confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming until your subscription expires at the end of your billing cycle.

Here's how to cancel your subscription on your Roku:
- Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
To cancel your subscription on your phone or computer, go to Roku's Cancel a subscription article. - Use the directional pad on your remote to highlight HBO Max.
- Press the Star button (*) to open the Options menu.
- Choose Manage subscription then Cancel subscription. If Manage subscription is not available, try these same steps on each Roku streaming device you own.
You should get an email from Roku confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming until your subscription expires at the end of your billing cycle.

Here's how to cancel your subscription on the web:
- Go to samsungcheckout.com and sign in to your Samsung account.
- From the Purchase History menu, choose Subscriptions.
- Find your HBO Max subscription and then choose Unsubscribe.
Once canceled, you should get an email from Samsung confirming your cancellation. You can continue to stream until your subscription expires at the end of your billing cycle.

- Go to hulu.com/account and sign in to your Hulu account.
- In the Your Subscription section, select Manage Add-ons (next to Add-ons).
- Find HBO Max and toggle the checkmark to an X.
- Select Review Changes to confirm.

If you're billed through the Prime Video Channels, you can cancel your subscription via your Amazon account page. Here's how:
- Go to Manage Your Prime Video Channels and sign in to your Amazon account (if prompted).
- Find HBO Max in the Your Channels section.
- Choose the Cancel Channel option and confirm.

Go to Spectrum's Change or cancel service article or sign in to your Spectrum account at spectrum.net.
Sign in to your Verizon account at verizon.com/home/myverizon or use the My Fios app.
Sign in to your Verizon account at verizon.com/home/myverizon. Choose +play, and then Manage. (+play is not currently available in the My Verizon app.)
Sign in to your Xfinity account at my.xfinity.com or visit the Xfinity Help Center.
- Go to tv.youtube.com and sign in to your account.
- Choose your profile picture, then Settings > Membership.
- Next to HBO Max, choose Cancel.
- Choose Yes, Cancel to finish.

Sign in to your provider's website, go to their Help Center, or contact them.
You need to cancel your subscription before your next billing date to avoid further charges. Here's how to cancel:
